A couple of hours ago I had to put my cat Sonia to rest.Waaaah!
Lost my Mother recently to cancer.
I don't know why but this hurts much, much worse.
I feel like a large part of me has died.

I'm grateful for all my friends here.
I'll try to return soon.

Thank you so much for your kind, generous and thoughtful gift!

I lost my father, so I do understand the loss of a parent. I can't imagine losing my mother but know it is inevitable. My younger sister died in her sleep four years ago, and I felt so guilty that, later, losing a pet seemed such terrible pain. Our minds and hearts work in mysterious ways. Pain over the loss of that relatively brief life can be extraordinarily intense.

Cats seem so unchanging once they're full-grown. They seem to go on and on, and it's difficult to picture losing them. They're so much a part of our lives, too. It's hard to describe the link between person and pet. There must be a special area of the brain and heart.

I hope you're able to find another kitty to share your life.

EDIT: I just looked at the large picture of Sonia and was so stunned because her markings show up so well. She looks a lot like Pookie Bear's sister, Pixie Dust! Pixie has that lovely grey color with cream splotches, the only cat I've seen who looks like that till now. Sadly, Pixie prefers living the feral life and only visits in the autumn and winter. I wonder if she'll be back again this year.

What a very beautiful kitty Sonia was!
